PGA TOUR • Open Championship The Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews

Tiger Woods, already two-time winner at St. Andrews, won another title before hitting a shot at the 150th edition of the British Open. He is now an honorary member of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews. The R&A used its big celebration this week to award honorary memberships to Open champion Woods, Rory McIlroy and Paul Lawrie. Not that Woods needed any help getting a tee time at the Old Course, or getting admittance to the famous clubhouse. But it's a nice honor. "This is not only the home of golf, but a place in the world that I hold close to my heart," Woods said in a statement. "I am humbled to accept this invitation today alongside these wonderful players, as well as those who have come before us."

Next time at Royal Liverpool in 2014, it was McIlroy's turn, winning wire-to-wire for his third career Grand Slam. Lawrie won in historic and memorable fashion at Carnoustie in 1999, winning a 10-shot comeback and play-off against Jean van de Velde.
