Alexander Isak: Newcastle close to agreeing club-record £58m deal with Real Sociedad for striker

Isak scored for the Spanish side in a 4-1 defeat by Barcelona in La Liga last weekend. Newcastle is in advanced talks with Real Sociedad to sign striker Aleksandar Isak for a fee of £58million.

Newcastle sporting director Dan Ashworth and the club's head of recruitment Steve Nixon are in Spain as they look to complete the move.  

The deal would represent Newcastle's club record, eclipsing the £40m they paid Hoffenheim for Julianton in 2019 and Lyon for Bruno Gomaris in January.
